Wickes moves its support centre to Watford

DIY chain Wickes is moving its support centre from Harrow to a new state-of-the-art facility in Watford.

The 200 people currently based at Wickes’ Harrow office are moving eight miles down the road to the Watford site this month. The new support centre is less than 40 minutes from the Northampton headquarters of Wickes’ parent company the Travis Perkins Group.

Wickes managing director Simon King said: “Wickes’ modern new office facility is not only well-located, but well-equipped and designed to encourage the team based there to work even more collaboratively. The result will be quicker and more responsive support for each one of our Wickes stores – ultimately resulting in better service for our customers. Being closer to the Travis Perkins Group headquarters will also enable more face-to-face collaboration with our leadership team.

“The new site provides a great place for people to work and gives us valuable room to grow, and it’s a cost-effective upgrade on the old office. Whilst Wickes offers employees at all levels great career opportunities, the company has always been a fun, exciting place to work, and we’re known for our unique family feel. We look forward to becoming an integral part of an active and thriving Watford business community.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Watford Mayor Dorothy Thornhill added: “I am thrilled to welcome Wickes to Watford and delighted that they have chosen us as their new home. We’re seeing more and more trusted brands locating to Watford as they recognise the benefits that the town has to offer. This is great news for our local economy and reflects a growing confidence in our town.”
