Wickes appoints Ian Crook as marketing director

DIY retailer Wickes has appointed former Tesco executive Ian Crook as marketing director.

Having spent a total of 18 years working in marketing roles at Tesco, Crook most recently worked for six years as marketing director at Tesco.com and held the same role at role at Tesco Stores for two years. Prior to Tesco, he worked with Early Learning Centre and The Retail Group.

At Wickes, Crook will aim to strengthen the retailer’s customer-centric approach and multichannel strategy.

Commenting on his appointment Crook said: “I am excited to have joined Wickes and to be spearheading the marketing strategy for a forward-thinking, dynamic organisation with a reputation for value and quality. Wickes’ strong standing in the British retail landscape, both with consumers and with tradesmen, is a great starting point and I look forward to differentiating our brand and our customer strategy as the marketplace continues to evolve.”
