Whole Foods Market opens first store in England outside of London
Whole Foods Market has opened a new store in Cheltenham – its first store in England outside of London.
The new shop follows the opening of the retailer’s first Scottish outlet in the Giffnock area of Glasgow.
The 27,000 sq ft store will stock the retailer’s full range of food, drink, health and beauty products including more than 330 local Gloucestershire-sourced products.
The shop features a cookery demonstration centre as well as indoor and outdoor cafés and a children’s outdoor play area. An on-going programme of family-friendly events will showcase the retailer’s seasonal food and drink products and the retailer also plans to organise a range of in-store masterclasses, supper clubs and kids’ activities in the store.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Jeff Turnas, regional president for Whole Foods Market UK said: “We chose the site in Cheltenham because we felt it offered us a fantastic opportunity to show Cheltenham and the whole of Gloucestershire what we can do.
“We’re very proud of our new store, of our 180 new team members and of course, our 300+ local products which will give our shoppers a fantastic choice of all-natural goods.”
In addition to the Cheltenham and Glasgow stores, Whole Food Markets operates five stores within central London.
