White Stuff founders consider sell-off

White Stuff is considering a sale or flotation, according to a report in the Independent newspaper.

Sean Thomas and George Treves, who founded the lifestyle and fashion business in 1985, are rumoured to be considering the selection of an adviser to sell stakes in the business in the next 18 months. They currently control 75% of the equity.

Sally Bailey, the firm’s chief executive, is quoted as saying that the owners were keen to sell the business, but that the timing of the sale or flotation would be dependent on high street trading conditions.
