WH Smith opens first Zoodle kids’ store in China
WH Smith has expanded in China by launching its first Zoodle kids’ store in the country.
The shop at Changsha Huanghua International Airport has been opened via a franchise partnership with La Source.
Further stores will open this summer at the Tianjin Binhai, Ürümqi Diwopu and Beijing Daxing international airports. Featuring the latest Zoodle store concept, the stores will sell brands such as Lego, Mattel, V-Tech, Richelieu and Gincho.
WH Smith International chairman Louis de Bourgoing said he is confident that La Source is the best partner for Zoodle in the Chinese travel retail market. He added: “We now have both WH Smith and Zoodle brands franchised in China which cements our vision to become a leading travel retailer within our categories.”
WH Smith has more than 1,600 stores worldwide. These include a growing international business with over 400 stores in 99 airports.
