WH Smith enters the Netherlands with Schiphol airport store
WH Smith has entered the Netherlands with the opening of a store at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
Situated at the airport’s Pier F, the shop offers national and international newspapers, magazines and books, as well as confectionery items, drinks, coffee, sandwiches, travel essentials and digital accessories.
A further two WH Smith stores are set to open at the airport in 2020 and 2021.
Phil McNally, WH Smith’s managing director for international, said: “We’re very pleased to have opened our first store in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This is a significant contract win for the WH Smith International business as we expand our presence in a major European airport, recognised for its state of the arts retail proposition.”
WH Smith has a growing airport business with over 280 stores in 77 major airports worldwide.
