WH Smith appoints Asia general manager
WH Smith has appointed a new general manager for Asia.
John Woodhouse will join the company on 13 October and will succeed Patricia Poon who is leaving the company after three years in the role.
Woodhouse previously worked with Nuance as head of business development Asia. Prior to that he worked with Aer Rianta International where he had a dual role as general manager of the firm’s Chinese regional office and head of business development, China and East Asia.
In his new role, he will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for overseeing current operations in Indonesia, Malaysia and China, as well as developing new territories.
WH Smith international director Louis de Bourgoing said: “We are delighted to welcome John to WH Smith. He joins us with a wealth of experience and we are confident that he will continue to drive the business forward.”
