WestQuay to welcome Wham Bam Tikka

Wham Bam Tikka, the Indian street food brand, has chosen the Hammerson operated WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton as the location for its first permanent kiosk.

Situated on the Above Bar Mall and designed by Design Clarity, Wham Bam Tikka’s 130 square foot space opened at the end of February.

Part of the Taste of India catering company, Wham Bam Tikka is a family-run business local to Southampton led by brothers Ken and Himat Bhakar. The menu for the street food brand includes wraps and salads, ‘street curries’, and hot and cold drinks. The brand launched five years ago at Glastonbury.

Sarah Fox, head of restaurants and leisure at Hammerson, said: “Wham Bam Tikka is a new and exciting local business that we are delighted to welcome to WestQuay. Brands like this keep the dining offer fresh, and further drive the demand amongst other leading restaurateurs looking to benefit from WestQuay’s significant regional appeal.”

Hammerson has also revealed that catering brand Crepes & Co will make its UK debut at WestQuay later this month while Boost Juice Bar will also be opening at the centre.

The news follows the recent announcement that Nando’s, Five Guys, Wahaca, Zizzi and Byron are to open at WestQuay Watermark, the mixed-use leisure led development adjacent to WestQuay which is due to complete in autumn 2016.
