West Ham United launches festive pop-up at John Lewis, Westfield Stratford
The West Ham United football club has launched a pop-up shop at the John Lewis department store at Westfield, Stratford.
The surprise opening on Tuesday lunchtime was attended by club ambassadors James Collins and Marlon Harewood, alongside Hammers fan Bianca Westwood. The trio also participated in a Q&A.
Meanwhile, club mascots Hammerhead and Bubbles surprised shoppers by appearing in the shop window of the John Lewis store where they took part in some fun and games and interacted with shoppers via the use of walkie-talkies. In addition, passers-by had the chance to win prizes as they shopped.
Running until 31 December, the space offers items such as festive decorations, Christmas jumpers and replica kits.
Emma Taylor, head of marketing at West Ham United FC, said: “We’re really delighted to have a West Ham United presence this festive season at such a renowned retailer like John Lewis.
“This year’s Christmas campaign is themed around ‘The Gift of Claret & Blue’ – and our festive pop-up in John Lewis is an exciting part of our plans to showcase our vast range of gift ideas for Irons fans.”
West Ham also has four other stores in London and Essex.
