Welsh Retail Consortium appoints new head of policy & external affairs

The Welsh Retail Consortium has named Sara Jones as its new head of policy and external affairs.

Jones has joined the WRC from global communications agency Grayling where she was director of Wales. Having previously held corporate affairs roles at Environment Agency Wales and British Waterways, she will lead the implementation of the organisation’s strategy across Wales including building relationships between members and key partners.

BRC director general Helen Dickinson said: “I am delighted that Sara has joined us to head up the Welsh Retail Consortium. We are committed as an organisation to working with our partners in Wales and Sara’s experience and knowledge will add value to our members in terms of their work in a devolved environment.”

The BRC’s head of the devolved nations David Lonsdale added: “Sara will be an excellent addition to the team and help complement our work across Scotland and Northern Ireland with her in depth knowledge of the Welsh landscape. I know Sara is committed to furthering vibrant consumer focused retail and will work hard for our members’ interests.”

Jones succeeds John Munro who is taking on the careers portfolio with the British Retail Consortium.
