Well completes rebrand of former Co-operative pharmacies

Well Pharmacy has completed its rebrand of the 782 pharmacies it acquired from the Co-operative Pharmacy.

The re-brand was part of a £200 million investment programme following the acquisition by the Bestway Group late last year. This included the business committing to launching a range of new healthcare services.

Partnering with Invatech Health, Well has launched Careplus which allows care professionals to digitally manage resident medication in nursing and care homes.

It has also launched free blood pressure checks and is working collaboratively with the NHS to grow a smoking cessation service across its network

In addition, Well’s winter flu jab service will be extended nationally with the private jab available in over 700 branches across the UK and the free NHS flu jab in locally commissioned regions.

Earlier this year, Well acquired pharmacy chain Care4u in Devon and there are several other acquisitions in progress which are expected to be announced in December.

John Nuttall, chief executive at Well, said: “We’re proud to have rebranded the 782 branches in our estate and Well is now supporting the health and wellbeing of local communities across the UK.

“Our plans for a strengthened healthcare services offering and continual investment in our Pharmacy teams will facilitate the provision of personalised patient care, to improve the health and wellbeing of the local communities we serve.”

Well plans to increase its annual revenue to £1 billion by 2019 and is also looking to grow its its network of pharmacies from 780 branches to 1,000 by 2018.
