Well appoints new HR director

The Well pharmacy chain has appointed Tracy Barton as its new HR director.

Barton has joined Well from Asda where she was initially senior director looking after people and customer service and then progressed to senior director of organisational effectiveness. Prior to that, she worked for Tesco as HR director for the One Stop convenience stores.

At Well, Barton will be supporting the business in its plans to successfully separate from the Co-operative. The business was recently rebranded as ‘Well’ from The Co-operative Pharmacy following the chain’s acquisition by Bestway Group in 2014.

Barton will also work to ensure that Well’s HR function is setup to support an independent pharmacy business and to deliver business plans.

Barton said: “It’s a really exciting time to join Well, we have a great business plan that will help us continue to build on our success and deliver the great customer care that we are known for in our communities. I’m delighted to have been appointed, and looking forward to getting started.”

John Nuttall, chief executive of Well added: “Tracy has brought a wealth of expertise at a key time – launching our new brand; she is a great addition to the leadership team.”
