The Morleys department store chain has expanded by acquiring the family-owned Camp Hopson store in Newbury.
The store will retain the name Camp Hopson and will employ the existing team of staff. It will join seven other independently branded department stores owned by Morleys including Elys in Wimbledon, Pearsons in Enfield and Morleys of Bicester.
Plans for a £60 million redevelopment of the Galleries Shopping Centre in Wigan are expected to be approved by Wigan Council next week.

The revamped centre will offer a mix of retail and leisure space and will include a multi-screen cinema, restaurants and a health centre.
Carluccio’s, the Italian deli and restaurant chain, is to launch ten pop-ups shops in the run-up to Christmas. Open daily from mid-November to Christmas Eve, the shops will be situated in Liverpool, Manchester’s Trafford Centre, Leicester, Bristol Cabot, Leamington, Bristol Cribbs, Exeter, Worcester, Bath and Milton Keynes.
