Walpole appoints Michelle Emmerson as managing director
Walpole British Luxury, the not-for-profit organisation that represents over 175 British luxury brands, has appointed Asos executive Michelle Emmerson as its new managing director.
In her previous role, Emmerson was group services and people director at Asos where she was responsible for a number of business units. Prior to joining Asos, Emmerson held various board level and senior roles at BBC Worldwide and EMI Music.
At Walpole, Emmerson will report to chairman Ben Hughes and will be responsible for strategy and taking Walpole to the next stage in its evolution.
Commenting on the appointment, Hughes said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Michelle as Managing Director; she is a valuable addition to the Walpole British Luxury team. The board and I look forward to drawing on Michelle’s experience and expertise in driving Walpole to its next stage of growth.”
