Walpole appoints Michelle Emmerson as CEO
Walpole British Luxury, the not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 160 British luxury brands, has appointed Michelle Emmerson as chief executive.
Emmerson initially joined Walpole as managing director in October 2013 after working as group services and people director at online fashion retailer Asos. Prior to Asos, she held various board level and senior roles at BBC Worldwide and EMI Music.
Walpole said Emmerson had been appointed to the role after carrying out some “incredible work” for the organisation. This included conducting an extensive review of Walpole as it looks to grow its global presence.
Emmerson was instrumental in the recent appointment of perfumer Jo Malone to the Walpole board which also includes Harrods managing director Michael Ward and Thomas Pink chief executive and president Jonathan Heilbron.
