Walmart improves delivery and returns service for its marketplace offering
Walmart is introducing some improvements to its marketplace shopping experience by working with sellers to make millions of items available for two-day delivery without a membership fee.
The US retail giant introduced two-day delivery at Walmart.com two years ago for items over $35 but is now extending the service to its marketplace offering.
Walmart is also simplifying the returns process for items purchased from marketplace sellers by giving shoppers the additional option of returning items at any of its 4,700 stores. For items returned in store, Walmart will facilitate the return by sending the item back to the seller and the customer will receive the refund from the seller.
The new returns service will start in mid-November.
Scott Hilton, chief revenue officer for Walmart Ecommerce US, said: “The holidays are quickly approaching, and, with that, the annual increase in shopping for everything from everyday essentials to holiday gifts. We’re confident that, with these new changes to our marketplace, holiday shopping will be that much easier.”
