Blimpies to open in 100 US stores
February 3 2004
US sandwich maker Blimpie International is to rent space in at least 100 Wal-Mart stores to roll out its franchised offer.
Local franchisees will operate Blimpie Xpress format restaurants in the stores, selling sub sandwiches, salads and wraps, along with breakfasts and snacks.
Blimpie president and chief executive Jeff Endervelt said.”By locating our restaurants in the world’s largest retailer we are able to offer a substantial business opportunity, for both Blimpie and the franchisees that will be selected to own and operate these locations.”
The stores will open across the course of this year with the first two, in Florida, scheduled for April.
