Waitrose launches ‘surprise blooms’ online flower delivery service

Waitrose & Partners has launched a new online flower delivery service where shoppers have the option to add a mystery bouquet of flowers to their online grocery order.

Priced at £15, the box of flowers will be delivered to the customer with their grocery items but the type of flowers contained in the bouquet will remain a surprise until it arrives.

Waitrose said customers can expect to receive seasonal blooms that are in line with the latest floral trends and colours for the season. This may include sunflowers and peonies in the summer months, lilies and roses in the autumn and hyacinths and tulips in the spring.

The new service will initially be run as a pilot for online deliveries within the London area.

Lucy Matthewson, horticulture buyer at Waitrose & Partners, said: “We’re really excited to introduce this service to our online shoppers. The element of surprise is something really fun and we hope our shoppers enjoy treating themselves to a beautiful bouquet for their home.”
