Waitrose launches grow your own range with Alan Titchmarsh

Waitrose has launched a range of gardening products in association with TV presenter and gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh.

The first products include a range of grow your own vegetables such as seed potatoes, onions and shallots as well as seeds and fruits including strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb.

Titchmarsh has been the face of Waitrose’s horticulture and gardening ranges since 2013, making appearances in TV ads and on the supermarket’s website in addition to writing articles in Waitrose publications.

Karen Thomas, manager for Waitrose product development, said: “This launch means Alan will bring his expert knowledge and passion for gardening directly to our customers, beginning with a range of specialist varieties of fruit and vegetables. We know our shoppers love both cooking and gardening and we’re very pleased to be able to explore the possibilities of the kitchen garden even further with some exciting new seed varieties.”

Other products within the range include Waitrose butterfly and bee mats which come ready seeded with a mixture of flowers to attract bees and butterflies.
