Waitrose bids farewell to Delia
Waitrose has announced that it will be parting company with celebrity chef Delia Smith after her contract runs out next month.
Smith was signed up by the supermarket in March 2010, alongside fellow chef Heston Blumenthal, and has featured in numerous Waitrose advertising campaigns.
The supermarket said that the decision was taken by mutual agreement and that Smith had other major projects and commitments coming up in 2013.
Waitrose has renewed its contract with Blumenthal, whose Hidden Sauce Figgy Pudding and Christmas Cake were among the supermarket’s Christmas best-sellers.

We remain on very good terms and will be continuing to work closely with her until the end of February.”
