Waitrose appoints new wine buyer
Waitrose has announced the appointment of Cat Lomax to its wine buying team.
Lomax joins Waitrose from Direct Wines where she has been part of the buying team since 2009. Prior to Direct Wines, she worked at Anthony Byrne Fine Wines and the University of Cambridge, where she also did her degree in Modern Languages, followed by a Masters in Fine Art.
In her new role, Lomax will be responsible for buying Bordeaux, Alsace, Rhône, Germany, Austria and USA for the supermarket.
Ken Mackay MW, Waitrose wine buying manager, said: “As well as clear commercial skill and an enormous passion for wine, Cat is incredibly personable and I’m very sure that she will not only be a great asset to our team, but also a pleasure for us all to work with over the coming years.”
