Waitrose appoints new director of e-commerce
Waitrose has promoted its head of strategy Ross Avery to the position of director, e-commerce.
Succeeding Robin Phillips, Avery will take up his new role at the end of November and will be responsible for overseeing Waitrose’s e-commerce operations including Waitrose.com, WaitroseCellar.com and WaitrosePet.com.
Avery joined Waitrose in 2001 on the Graduate Programme and since then has held a number of roles throughout the business including branch manager and head of retail co-ordination. He was appointed head of strategy in March 2013.
Rob Collins, Waitrose retail director, said: “I am delighted that Ross Avery will become director, e-commerce. Ross is taking up the e-commerce reins at a very important but exciting time for our online business, and it is great that we have been able to draw on our own talent for this important appointment.”
