Waitrose appoints Jonathan Moore as Executive Chef
Waitrose has appointed Michelin chef Jonathan Moore as its executive chef as the retailer looks to strengthen its own brand food ranges.
Moore has worked as a chef in a number Michelin starred and five star restaurants. Most recently he held senior product development and innovation roles with major food manufacturers and retailers, and founded the food consultancy Tomorrow’s Food, which specialises in new product development and food trends.
Commenting on the appointment Sam Dickson, Waitrose head of brand development and product innovation, said: “We’re really excited to have Jonathan on board – he is widely recognised in the industry as a leading product development chef and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as we continue to raise the bar in product quality and innovation.”
Moore said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Waitrose. It truly is a retailer that lives and breathes food excellence and innovation.”
Waitrose has introduced number of own label food ranges recently including the nutrionally balanced LOVE life products and the Heston from Waitrose range created by the retailer’s ambassador, Heston Blumenthal.
