Virgin Digital And The Carphone Warehouse Announce Launch Of Mymobilemusic.Co.Uk
Virgin Digital and The Carphone Warehouse have formed an alliance to create a new music download service that will enhance customers’
download experience while providing both companies the opportunity to explore new markets.
Virgin Digital will become The Carphone Warehouse’s exclusive music download partner in the UK, powering its music website MyMobileMusic.co.uk and providing customers with an easy to use and constantly evolving platform. The service is compatible with MP3 players from most leading manufacturers, as well as a wide range of mobile phones that support Windows Media Audio (WMA).
MyMobileMusic.co.uk users can download over 2.5 million individual tracks from 79p by ‘dragging and dropping’ music from the webpage to a shopping basket at the bottom of the screen. There is no need to download any additional software, which means nothing can get between users and the music they want.
As well as the music store, MyMobileMusic.co.uk also features Music Insurance, which replaces customers’ entire downloaded music library if their computer or MP3 player is damaged or stolen. Other key features include a music news service, featured playlists and comprehensive background information on artists and songs.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for both parties to reach music fans with an easy-to-use and quality download service,” said Virgin Retails Marketing & New Media Director Steve Kincaid.
The Carphone Warehouse Online Director, Andy Brown, added, “The partnership allows us to add value to our customers’ online experience and will allow The Carphone Warehouse to benefit from Virgin’s Rich musical heritage”.
“We know from our experience of working with Virgin Mobile in France as Phone Store, that partnerships with Virgin companies allows us to leverage their brand values and expertise to create compelling content for our enviable customer base.”
