Victoria Beckham to launch e-commerce website

Victoria Beckham is to launch her first e-commerce website in spring 2013.

The fashion designer is preparing to launch a new version of victoriabeckham.com which will include e-commerce for her accessories, eyewear, denim and the Victoria, Victoria Beckham line. The existing site has previously only served as an online lookbook for the label’s collections.

Powered by King & Partners Sellect platform, the new e-commerce site will initially serve customers in the UK, USA and Europe although there are plans to roll out sales in additional territories at a later date.

With art direction provided by Jonny Lu and Isaac Lock, the site will also feature interactive social media tools to enable visitors to share content across their own personal accounts, as well as through Victoria Beckham channels including Twitter and Facebook.

Commenting on the new site Beckham said: “My new website has been in the making for a very long time. It was so important that the concept, tone and look of it were true to me and my aesthetic and that the shopping experience was the very best that it could be for my customer.

“The site will be ever evolving, featuring never seen before insights into my world through the medium of film. I’m incredibly excited with what I have created and the unique access to the brand I am now able to offer.”

Zach Duane, Victoria Beckham CEO, added: “For us, this is the first step toward creating our own store environment. There are obviously already some fantastic digital stores in place so the bar to entry is very high. But we feel that we’ve learned a lot from the market and that we are bringing our take on what we believe is ultimately all about customer experience.”

The designer’s current website now features a holding page where visitors can sign up to receive brand updates and a notification of when the e-commerce goes live.

Make sure your business connects with your customers at every touchpoint by attending the Retail Bulletin’s 4th Multichannel Retailing Summit 6th February 2013. Speakers include N Brown Group, Lovehoney, John Lewis, Gravis Germany, Evans Cycles, Snow & Rock, A Suit That Fits, Tesco.com, Asda Direct, Ladbrokes, Google, Visa, eDigital Research, Shutl, Demanware, Experian, Bazaarvoice…
