Uniqlo to offer scholarships to Harvard
Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo is to offer fellowships for Japanese students who have been accepted into the Harvard Business School and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Starting in September 2015, a total of $1.2 million in fellowships will be awarded to six students – one annually per school – over the following three years. Students will be selected on the strength of their application and a series of interviews.
Tadashi Yanai, chairman, president, and chief executive of Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing, will personally donate a total of $600,000 over three years to fellowship recipients at GSD.
Uniqlo said the fellowship programme will provide world-class educational opportunities to promising individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances, to pursue careers as managers or designers.

The final interviews will be conducted by Yanai and Professor Hirotaka Takeuchi of the Harvard Business School. Fast Retailing will offer fellowship recipients enrolment in its internship program while they are studying abroad.
