Unibail-Rodamco Westfield announces new and renewed partnerships with Youth Zones
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has embarked on a new three-year partnership with Croydon Youth Zone, Legacy as part of its longstanding relationship with national youth charity, OnSide.
It has also announced that it has renewed its partnership with WEST, another of OnSide’s Youth Zones in Hammersmith and Fulham, which the shopping centre operator has supported since 2021.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield will invest £25,000 per year in both Youth Zones to bring the total to £150,000. The funding will go towards creating opportunities and access to learning and activities for young people.
Open seven days a week, WEST and Legacy provide young people with affordable access to a range of programmes, support services and activities. These include sports, arts, music, employability, and mentoring, as well as facilities such as recording studios, climbing walls, Apple suites, wellbeing studios and cookery kitchens, to enable young people to pursue their passions and develop new skills.
Jacinta Rowsell, director of operations at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Legacy Youth Zone, a state-of-the-art facility that provides a safe and nurturing space for local young people in Croydon to discover and pursue their passions and learn and develop new skills.
“We are equally excited to be continuing our partnership with WEST Youth Zone and are proud of all they have achieved so far.
“Our continued, long relationship with OnSide fits perfectly with our group’s Better Places strategy and our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of current and future residents and communities around our centres.”
