Two Branston products recalled as list grows

Premier Foods acts as ‘precautionary’ measure
Premier foods has recalled two Branston-branded products as the list of products contaminated with the Sudan 1 dye grow.

Premier Foods, which supplied the Worcester Sauce made with chilli powder at the heart of the food recalls, said that Branston Hot and Spicy Sweet Pickle 310g and Branston Rich and Fruity Sauce 250g are affected.
Premier said: “We are recalling these products at once as a precautionary measure and have notified the Food Standards Agency.”
Production of Branston Hot and Spicy Sweet Pickle ended in early 2004. Both are retail products and Premier stressed that no other Branston products are affected.
Well over 400 products have now been rcecalled, with all the major UK retailers affected. The FSA had given retailers a deadline of Thursday morning to remove from sale the products originally indentified.
