TUI appoints Jill Carter as UK director of retail

TUI has promoted Jill Carter to the role of director of retail for the UK and Ireland.

Having joined TUI UK & Ireland in 1991, Carter was previously head of retail sales.

In her new role, she will lead the transformation of the travel firm’s 649 shops in the UK and Ireland. She will report to customer operations director Fraser Ellacott.

Carter succeeds Kathryn Darbandi who left the business last year.

Ellacott said: “We are committed to developing a multi-channel distribution network with retail and online working alongside each other.  2015 marks a new era for our retail business as we focus on a strategy of innovation, investing in new technologies and service to enhance the customer experience.

“In her new role, Jill will lead this programme and work closely with other customer facing areas of our business to deliver a next generation holiday experience on the high street. With a wealth of retail experience from over 20 years in our business there is no one better placed to take on this role.”
