Trouva takes first step in international expansion
Trouva, the UK based curated online marketplace for independent bricks-and-mortar boutiques, has extended its reach to Germany by launching in Berlin.
The news follows Trouva’s recent Series A funding announcement, which saw $10 million invested in the company in a round led by BGF Ventures alongside Index Ventures and Octopus Ventures.
Mandeep Singh, chief executive and co-founder of Trouva, said: “It’s an incredible time for growth at Trouva with the recent announcement of our Series A, which has quickly led to our expansion into Berlin as the first stepping stone in our mission to unite the world’s greatest independent shops on our platform.”
Trouva’s technology platform, which enables small independent boutique owners to sell online, will offer Berlin-based shops in-store inventory management software, real-time logistics platform and AI machine learning, as well as the ability to offer same-day click-and-collect and worldwide shipping.
Sonja Lotz, shopkeeper and owner of Moeon boutique in Berlin, said: “We’ve had an incredible response since joining Trouva a few weeks ago, with over one hundred products being shipped to new customers. In the first week alone we had orders from seven different countries including the US, Australia, Spain and UK.”
