Trinity Leeds attracts 22 million visitors in first year
Trinity Leeds has reported that it has attracted more than 22 million visitors in its first year since opening.
The Land Securities owned shopping centre, which celebrates its first year of trading on 21 March, said it had also contributed to bringing over two million additional visitors to Leeds City Centre.
The scheme is currently 97.5% let or in solicitors’ hands and houses over 100 brands including Victoria’s Secret, Mango, Apple, Superdry, Next, Armani Exchange, Top Shop and River Island. In addition, budget fashion retailer Primark has opened a 107,000 sq ft flagship store at the centre.
According to CACI’s Shopper Dimensions Report, the average dwell time and average spend at Trinity Leeds is significantly higher than the average for in-town shopping centres. Food and leisure accounts for 24% of total units at Trinity Leeds and includes the largest Everyman cinema in the UK.
Gerald Jennings, portfolio director for Land Securities, said: “Trinity Leeds has brought a fresh and innovative take on retail and leisure to the UK market. We have welcomed more than 22 million customers and have increased footfall to the city of Leeds with our vibrant and diverse shopping, leisure and entertainment offer. We look forward to the next phase of Trinity Leeds as it continues to grow and adapt to ever-evolving customer and retailer needs.”
