Travelodge and Waitrose to develop hotel and retail sites
29 November, 2011 | by Retail Bulletin
Travelodge has teamed up with Waitrose to develop three combined hotel and retail sites in Buckinghamshire, Kent and London.
The budget hotel chain is planning to operate three new hotels in Aylesbury, Sidcup and Vauxhall next to Waitrose supermarkets and convenience stores. The developments will be completed in autumn 2012.
Travelodge said it is looking at a further 25 sites to develop alongside supermarkets, in addition to these three sites.
The co-developments form part of a £130 million investment programme that will create up to 600 jobs.
Travelodge operates 490 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain.
