Topshop names graduate fashion winners
Topshop has announced the winners of the Graduate Design Programme, a new initiative run in conjunction with the British Fashion Council which supports graduate fashion talent by offering twelve month paid internships with the high street fashion retailer.
The winners of the inaugural awards were announced as Sally Hewett from Northumbria University who will take up an internship at Topshop, and Rebecca Howarth from Manchester School of Art who will work with Topman.
This is the first year Topshop has partnered with the British Fashion Council on a graduate initiative as part of the retailers’ on-going support of emerging fashion talent.
Students were invited to submit a minimum of one mood board that demonstrated strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Topshop or Topman customer. Applicants then designed a 15 piece capsule collection that fully encapsulates their theme, showing key silhouettes, fabrics and colour choices.

The winner will have the opportunity to develop as a designer and gain valuable first-hand experience of a business through their time at Topshop.”
