Topps Tiles Q1 like-for-like sales rise 1.6%

Tiling and wood flooring retailer Topps Tiles said that trading in its first quarter was in line with management expectations as like-for-like revenues increased by 1.6%

In a trading update covering the 13 weeks to 29 December, the retailer said the like-for-like growth had strengthened in the final six weeks of the period. It also confirmed that that there had been no significant or unexpected changes to its financial positions.

Topps ended the quarter with a total of 322 UK stores.

The retailer said it would give a further update on trading at its Annual General Meeting on 23 January.
