TK Maxx owner appoints new chief executive

TK Maxx owner TJX has appointed Ernie Herrman to the position of chief executive.

As well as taking up his new role, Herrman will continue as president of the company and as a member of the board of directors.

He will succeed Carol Meyrowitz who has been chief executive of TJX since January 2007 and chairman of the board since June 2015. Meyrowitz will continue as chairman and as an active executive of the company with the new title of executive chairman.

Herrman has been president of TJX since 2011, with all of the operating divisions reporting to him since then.

Commenting on his appointment Meyrowitz said: “The board and I have the greatest confidence in our choice of Ernie Herrman to lead TJX into the future as chief executive.

“He is a tremendous leader with a proven, successful track record, strategic vision, discipline and focus.

“I look forward to continuing our 20-plus years of working together to support and maximize the growth potential of TJX.”
