TK Maxx opens in Ipswich and Walthamstow

TK Maxx has become an anchor store at Capital & Regional’s The Mall Walthamstow and the Buttermarket shopping centre in Ipswich.

At The Mall Walthamstow, the designer discount retailer is occupying 26,000 square feet over two floors and has opened following the completion of a £3.5 million refurbishment of the centre in 2015.

At Buttermarket, TK Maxx has relocated to a larger 27,000 square foot unit as Capital & Regional continues its £35 million redevelopment of the centre.

Capital & Regional acquired Buttermarket in a 50:50 joint venture with Drum Property Group in April 2015 and has since secured planning consent to remodel the centre.

Mark Bourgeois, executive director at Capital & Regional, said: “TK Maxx opening at Walthamstow and Buttermarket is hugely significant as it demonstrates that our investment to modernise and enhance our centres is helping us attract high calibre retailers. TK Maxx is an excellent addition to both centres.”
