Time to expand Computer Shop chain

Twenty new stores planned
December 3 2003
PC manufacturer and retailer Time Group plans twenty new UK stores over the next year.

Time, which operates stores in the Computer Shop format, has instructed property consultant GVA Grimley to advise on expansion into both high street and out-of-town locations.
The Computer Shop currently has 140 stores in the UK, with a target of increasing this to 160 by September 2004. Some current stores may also be relocated.
George Perrin, head of property at Time Group, said: “This will involve looking carefully at both our existing locations and some 30 new ones.”
Richard Lucas, GVA Grimley’s retail partner, said: “In all, as many as 90 acquisitions and disposals may be involved in the task, so this represents a major new market opportunity”
