Tillman considers bid for Allders
13 July, 2012 | by Retail Bulletin
Harold Tillman, the former part-owner of the collapsed Allders department store, is considering making a bid for the 150 year old store according to The Independent.
The Croydon store fell into administration last month after negotiations with landlords and the local council regarding rents and business rates fell apart. The store is currently being traded as a going concern while administrators Duff & Phelps look for a buyer.
Other potential bidders are understood to include retail turnaround specialist Hilco and the Beales department store chain.
