Latest news in brief on House of Fraser, Primark, Aldi and retail sales…

Department store House of Fraser has introduced a new early morning service where a delivery can be guaranteed to be before 9am for all online orders placed before 7pm the evening before.

Singer Robbie Williams has teamed up with discount fashion retailer Primark to relaunch his Farrell menswear brand. The collection, which includes t-shirts, knitwear, denim and outwear, will be sold in 15 Primark stores across the UK and will be priced between £8 and £45.

Aldi is to open five pop-up restaurants in the run-up to Christmas where the meals served will be planned by celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli using products from Aldi’s Specially Selected range.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Part of the discount supermarket’s ‘Everyone’s coming to us this Christmas’ campaign, the restaurants will be hosted by five venues across the country including Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow, Home House in London, Jesmond Dene Hotel in Newcastle, Great John Street Hotel in Manchester and Birmingham’s Michelin-star restaurant Adam’s.

Retail sales volumes grew by 4.3% year-on-year in October according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics. This was the nineteenth period of consecutive year-on-year growth. Compared to September 2014, retail sales volumes edged up 0.8% after a fall of 0.4% in September, with growth in all sectors except non-store retailing.
