Other latest news in brief on Zatchels, WH Smith and bitcoins…

Leather satchel brand Zatchels is to open 20 new shops over the next two to three years. With around 40% of its trade coming from online, the business is also investing in improvements to its website.

WH Smith has acquired the Australian Supanews chain according to a report in The Courier Mail. Founded in 1992, Supanews has 29 stores in Australia and has turnover of $80 million.

A total of $296 million was spent globally across the bitcoin network on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, according to insight provided by Bitnet. Bitcoin registered as the 9th biggest payment network worldwide over the biggest e-commerce weekend of the year, finishing only behind the likes of Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal.
