Games Workshop has appointed Rachel Tongue as group finance director with effect from 1 January 2015. Tongue is a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser and joined Games Workshop in 1996. She is currently company secretary and legal and compliance manager at the company.
Figures released by The Office for National Statistics show that retail sales volumes rose by 6.4% year-on-year last month to record the fastest annual growth since May 2004. Sales were boosted by Black Friday discounts. Online sales increased by 12.9% compared with November 2013.
Poundworld is embarking on an IT overhaul to support its long-term growth plans. The 10-month project will see the discount retailer implement a range of new IT systems to improve customer experience, efficiency and store management.
