Thorntons’ finance director to stand down

Thorntons, the high street chocolate retailer, has announced that Mark Robson is to stand down as finance director of the company.
Robson will leave Thorntons in March 2012 to take up a position with a private equity company.
Commenting on the news, Jonathan Hart, Thorntons’ chief executive, said: “Mark has played an important role over the past two years in improving our business and laying the foundations for our long term, transformational strategy.”
The company said a search for a successor has been initiated.
