Thierry Marty appointed as president of Kering North & South East Asia Pacific
Luxury group Kering has appointed Thierry Marty to the newly created role of president of its North and South-East Asia Pacific region, which includes Japan, Korea, South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
In a statement, Kering said the move will bolster its corporate team in APAC and support the long-term development of its luxury brands in the region.
With over 20 years experience of working with luxury brands in Asia, Marty has lived in Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul. Having begun his career at Deloitte, he joined LVMH in 1995 and since then has worked in finance and general management roles within Fendi, Celine, Bulgari and Louis Vuitton.
Jean-François Palus, group managing director of Kering, said: “We are delighted to welcome Thierry Marty to reinforce Kering’s presence in North and South-East Asia Pacific. Having lived more than 20 years in Asia, he brings extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the luxury industry in these markets. We are convinced that he will add an important contribution to the implementation of our strategy in North and South-East Asia Pacific.”
Based in Seoul, Marty will report directly to Palus. Meanwhile, Jinqing Cai, president of Kering Greater China, will continue to lead the local corporate teams.
