The Range to open new head office this summer

The Range is to open a new head office in Plymouth and create up to 450 jobs in the city.

Situated at the old Seaton Hill Barracks just off the city’s Tavistock Road, the head office will have a link to The Range store next door, which will also be used by head office staff for training.

With 164 stores across the UK, The Range is planning to launch further stores in both the UK and Ireland as it looks to reach a total of 600.

The Range currently operates its head office from nearby Estover where it employs 250 staff, but it has now outgrown the site. Due to open this summer, the new office will have room for up to 700 staff and will create 450 new jobs in departments such as buying, ecommerce, IT, marketing and accounts.

Chris Dawson, owner and founder of The Range, said: “It was always very important for me to keep our head office operations in our home city of Plymouth and the place that CDS The Range started, I have staff that have worked for the company for over 20 years so having a new office built just down the road from the current office is a big deal to all of us.

“Having the new superstore next to our head office also means that it can be used as a training academy and centre of excellence so that Range staff from across the UK can come down to Plymouth and be trained to the highest standards. We also have a lot of suppliers visit us from around the world that will use local hotels, restaurants and transport, they might even stay for a holiday!”
