The Perfume Shop celebrates 2.4% rise in Christmas sales
Fragrance retailer The Perfume Shop saw a 2.4% uplift in like-for-like sales in the four weeks ending 5 January 2013 as trade was boosted by strong online sales.
The company said traffic to its e-commerce site more than doubled in 2012 leading to a 42% increase in online sales. Following the launch of an improved mobile and smart-phone enabled website, sales on devices were up 307% for the full year and 367% in December.
Jo Walker, managing director, said: “We are delighted with the results for 2012, particularly during such tough economic times. We firmly believe that our strong sales performance, which continues to grow year-on-year, is due to the dedication and hard-work of the entire team.
“The outstanding success of our online sales, along with a fantastic array of in store services that add value for our customers has enabled us to deliver a strong result in a challenging year.”
