The Original Factory Shop to offer 107 Kickstart placements
The Original Factory Shop is to offer 107 work placements for young people as part of the government’s Kirkstart scheme.
The retailer said the move will form part of its commitment to supporting skills and training for young, unemployed 16 to 24-year olds.
Joanne Robinson, The Original Factory Shop’s people director, said: “We are delighted to have signed up to the government Kickstart Scheme – aimed at 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit. We have created 107 new roles across the estate. These jobs will be for 25 hours per week for a period of up to six months to enable them to gain valuable skills for their future. This is a way of giving back to our local communities, supporting young people at the start of their careers.”
The young people will be working in roles across a number of areas within the business and will be given full training in a customer facing retail role. They will also learn about health and safety, CV writing and interview preparation and techniques.
