The Entertainer brings back Big Toy Rehoming campaign

The Entertainer is running its Big Toy Rehoming campaign again this year following a successful launch in June 2018.

Last year the scheme found a new home for over 6,000 toys in just three days. As result, the retailer has decided to run the scheme for a longer period this year, from 5 to 28 September, as it looks to celebrate the International Day of Charity and National Recycle Week.

Run in partnership with The Salvation Army, the campaign aims to give pre-owned toys a new lease of life and reduce the volume of toys that find their way into household bins. Families are being encouraged to take their old toys to one of The Entertainer’s 171 shops across the UK from where the items will be passed to The Salvation Army for rehoming.

Gary Grant, founder and executive chairman of The Entertainer, said: “As a retailer, we’re committed to reducing our plastic waste by extending the lifecycle of toys and supporting the Salvation Army in the process.  We hope that the longer period to drop off toys will encourage more people to become involved with rehoming toys they no longer play with; helping the environment and helping others at the same time.”
