The Cotswold Company launches of delivery training academy and second delivery depot

The Cotswold Company furniture brand is strengthening its delivery offer through the launch of the Cotswold Home Delivery Training Academy and its second UK depot in Swindon.

Situated in Lichfield, the academy features a full size stairway and three interchangeable room sets for a bedroom, living room and kitchen to simulate the real-life delivery scenarios that team members might face when delivering furniture items. The aim is to help delivery colleagues to learn how to confidently navigate tight spaces, bends in staircases and different floor types.

Ralph Tucker, chief executive officer at The Cotswold Company, said: “We know that ordering new furniture for the home can become a stressful experience for customers.

“At The Cotswold Company, we want to take the stress out of deliveries and, through our investments in the CHD Training Academy, are empowering our delivery drivers to tackle all delivery scenarios and ensure a customer’s new purchase arrives in the room of their choice in a careful and considered manner.”

The move forms part of The Cotswold Company’s growth strategy and its broader investment in delivery and after-care services. Later this month, the brand will open its second UK delivery depot in Swindon, which will employ 21 people and add ten new vans to its fleet in time for Christmas.

Tucker added: “By investing in how our teams deliver and expanding our reach with our second depot in Swindon, we have a really strong platform to support our future growth and ensure The Cotswold Company becomes one of the UK’s leading premium homeware brands.”
