The Co-operative Group promotes Kris Nayak to new estates role

The Co-operative Group has promoted Kris Nayak to the role of head of location and portfolio planning within its Co-operative Estates team.

Having initially joined The Co-operative Group in March as head of business acquisitions and strategy, Nayak will be responsible for leading the location and portfolio planning team in his new role.

Stuart Hookins, head of portfolio strategy acquisitions and disposals at The Co-operative Group, said: “In the short time he has been with the team, Kris’ experience, knowledge and passion have proved a huge asset to the business.  His new role recognises this, and I have no doubt that Kris’ appointment will result in the team providing even greater insight to the store acquisition programme.”

Nayak added: “We will open 100 new stores this year, and targeting 150 in subsequent years.  Our forecasts for store performance are market-leading in terms of accuracy: our challenge is to unlock data and build privileged insights that lead to competitive advantage.”
