The Co-operative Group names Wilko’s Ian Ellis as new CFO

The Co-operative Group has appointed Ian Ellis as its new group chief financial officer.
Ellis will join The Co-operative Group from variety retailer Wilko where he has worked as chief financial officer since 2008.
His other previous roles include head of finance at the Morrisons supermarket chain and a number of senior finance roles at Northern Foods.
Richard Pennycook, chief executive at The Co-operative Group, said: “With a long career in retail and food businesses, Ian is extremely well qualified for the role and we are very pleased to have hired him.”
